THE artist BEHIND THE LENS

Hi! I'm Hannah

A portrait photographer with an editorial & journalistic approach,
based in Greenville, SC

My goal in life is to empower humanity to believe in themselves and be moved by the kindness and love that is intertwined in each of us. We are what makes this world what it is today. We are what makes this world better. I find that photographs unite people, inspire, and foster connections.  I believe photography is a reminder, a story, and a tease of wanting more... A photograph is not just an image; it's a powerful statement and an homage to what’s truly important in life. Us.

My Only rule is...

To Come as you are <3

"I had the most incredible experience being photographed by Hannah Nett. Leading up to the shoot, I was extremely anxious—I’ve always felt uncomfortable in front of the camera and rarely liked how I looked in photos. But Hannah was so warm and inviting that she quickly put me at ease.

She took the time to truly understand me, intuitively picking up on both my insecurities and the parts of myself in which I felt confident. She invested time and intention into finding a creative approach to reflect my specific journey, and she crushed it!

I have recently returned to writing after a long hiatus, and Hannah asked me to write. Not to be too dramatic, but this was, yes, a photoshoot I wanted and paid for, but also a near-therapy session where I released some weight I was carrying, around who I was expected to be as a woman and a mother. At the same time, she reintroduced me to the vulnerable act of self-expression through writing that I had regretfully left behind. Hannah was able to capture every one of my emotions during this experience, allowing me to be awkward, shy, and goofy, but also helping me embrace my repressed femininity.

I was expecting to struggle to find photos I liked; however, I ended up loving so many that it took me over an hour to pick. The best way to describe the shoot with Hannah is emphasizing how she helped me celebrate every part of myself as a person, and I left feeling accepted and whole. I would recommend that everyone have the opportunity to be shot by Hannah Nett. Not only did she find a way to authentically help me feel beautiful, but she also aided in my accepting the parts of myself that lacked love."
